The ҳ| 鶹ýӳ, will host a visitation team April 26-28 in connection with the university's accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.
UNLV is fully accredited by the commission.
Every 10 years UNLV, like other universities and colleges, is reviewed for accreditation in what is called a "full-scale visit." In this year's visit, a 1 5-member team of professors and administrators from other institutions across the United States will examine every aspect of the university to assess its quality and effectiveness.
UNLV last hosted a full-scale visit in 1990.
The commission also conducts a five-year interim visit for each institution and sometimes requires other visits or reports on specific topics. The commission's most recent action involving UNLV concerned the university's new graduate programs in physical therapy and environmental studies, which in 1999 underwent automatic review following their first year of operation.
In connection with this year's review, the commission invites written comments from members of the public relating to UNLV's accreditation. They may be sent to the Commission on Colleges, 11130 N.E. 33rd Place, Suite 120, Bellevue, Wash., 98004.
Comments should be received in the commission of fice by March 24.
