William Novelli, national CEO of AARP, will present a lecture on social marketing and ethnic buying power, including a discussion of marketing to senior citizens and ethnic groups, this Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 9:30 AM. at UNLV. This special lecture will be held in the Marietta Tiberti Grand Hall in the Richard Tam Alumni Center. The public is welcome to attend this session, which precedes AARP's National Event & Expo, held for the first time in Las Vegas this week. More than 2,000 AARP members are expected to attend the conference.
Well-known in the public advocacy and public relations spheres, Mr. Novelli now represents the 35-million-member AARP, an organization for people 50 years of age and older. Formerly, he was president of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. He also served as executive vice president of CARE, the world's largest private relief and development organization, where he was responsible for all operations in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Novelli is a recognized leader in the international practice of social marketing, and managed programs in cancer control, diet and nutrition, cardiovascular health, reproductive health, infant survival, pay increases for educators, charitable giving and other programs in the U.S. and the developing world.
Mr. Novelli was cofounder and president of Porter Novelli, now one of the world's largest public relations agencies, and was named among the top 100 most influential public relations professionals of the 20th century.
