In fewer than 100 days, Nevadans head to the polls. And while most of us are thinking of who we want as president, there are dozens of other officials we have the right to vote for.

Members of Henderson’s City Council disclosed that they had a possible conflict of interest more than 20 times last year, but experts say those relationships are common and another city commission disclosed more than double the conflicts.

The analysis highlighted five target industries for the city: logistics management and technologies; electric equipment and components manufacturing; financial and credit services; media and sports production; and back-office management and support services.

When UNLV senior Elia Del Carmen Solano-Patricio looked out the window of her Airbnb in Irvine, Calif., she saw flames rising in the nearby mountains and scorch marks on the ground. It’s all with an eye to lock down the vast stores of cash that keep Sin City afloat. To keep the odds in its favor, the house is always watching.
