Katherine Keller
Biography
Katherine Keller arrived at UNLV in 1994 and graduated in 1997 with a degree in English. She took a staff job with University Libraries in 2000 and currently works in the Teacher Development and Resources Library, which focuses on the needs of current and future educators.
In a classic move of third-wave feminism, she helped found , a long-running website by women who like comic books and pop culture.
Since its inception, Katherine has served on the steering committee for the , a one-day comic book convention put on through the Las Vegas Clark County Library District.
A long-time active member of the , Katherine was invited to join the CBLDF's board of directors in 2013 because of her experience with libraries and educational institutions. The CBLDF is an organization which defends First Amendment rights related to comic strips, comic books, graphic novels, and manga. It protects the interests of creators, retailers, readers, and educators.
She is married to Ralph Mathieu, owner of Alternate Reality Comics, and her hobby is attempting to grow fruits and vegitables in her backyard garden.
