UNLV's Lee Business School is launching an online, asynchronous track of the Master in Business Administration (MBA) program to offer students an alternative to traditional classroom learning and to address workforce needs across the world.
In addition to flexibility, the online program will provide networking opportunities and access to extensive resources that ensure graduates are well prepared for career advancement. The online MBA will focus on leadership and strategic skills necessary to succeed in the fast-paced, ever-changing world of business.
The program is now accepting applicants for its spring 2025 launch.
UNLV Online Master of Business Administration
The online program is taught by the same faculty in UNLV's long-established hybrid evening MBA and dual MBA programs. Students in these programs often see a significant increase in salary once they graduate. A UNLV MBA delivers a robust 395% return on investment, based on an average salary increase of $25,000 annually over a 10-year period after graduation.
“Our professors are dedicated to providing students with essential managerial skills and an innovative learning environment,” says Won-Yong Oh, associate chair of the Department of Management, Entrepreneurship & Technology. “The skills, knowledge, and network our students acquire are valuable rewards that last throughout their entire careers and take students further than they ever imagined.”
With workforce-readiness and career advancement in mind, the MBA curriculum offers countless opportunities for professional growth, supported by a range of additional resources:
- Internships: Lee Business School collaborates with industry leaders to offer hands-on, practical learning opportunities.
- Career and Professional Development: The Lee Business School Career and Professional Development Office offers personalized coaching, mentorship, and professional development to students and alumni. This includes access to career preparation tools like VMock, Standout, and Handshake.
- Partnerships: The school’s strategic partnerships with industry leaders and community organizations provide students with access to networking events and real-world projects that enhance business skills.
Expand Professional Networks
Students who enroll in the online MBA will benefit from Las Vegas’ status as a global destination and Lee Business School’s strong ties with the local business community, which connect students to specialized networking events and internships.
These opportunities include visits with businesses like UFC and HUDL Brewery, as well as the in-person and online Seminars and Speaker Series.
Vicky Saab, ’24 MBA, says, “The MBA program has been a transformative experience for my professional growth…and attending the events and socials allowed me to connect with peers and grow.”
The network isn’t limited to businesses. Students join a growing alumni network of over 21,000 business graduates and 140,000 total Rebels. Students who are interested in specific careers can connect with alumni through the Office of Graduate Students Services.
The Power of Online Learning
From logging on the first day to receiving their diploma, online degree students can count on Lee Business School for support.
“We recognize that, as a unique and vibrant city with diversifying industries and international interest, we must be adaptive to the learning preferences and busy schedules of our students,” says faculty director of MBA and EMBA Programs, John Baur.
Students start the program with a detailed orientation session to meet their advisors, faculty, and peer mentors. The onboarding also covers how to navigate the online learning platform and tips for successful online learning.
An online MBA might seem like a solo journey, but each student has a team of faculty backing their education. Lisa Davis, executive director of the Office of Graduate Students Services, meets with each student when they’re admitted.
Lihuan Wang, an international dual MBA and Master of Information Systems student, says, “The team at the Office of Graduate Student Services is more than just an academic and professional resource; they are life guides and constant supporters. They helped me with degree planning, career development, and securing my graduate assistantship. The team made it possible for me to move to this country, enroll in this fantastic program, and navigate my educational journey.”
Throughout the program, the academic advising team prepares personalized study plans and does regular check-ins to ensure students are on track for success.
“The MBA program at our institution offers unparalleled support to its students… and opens up more options for my future,” says Wang.
Davis adds, “Study anytime, anywhere, and join a diverse global network of students. Our programs are designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your career goals.”
