Thomas Padilla (Libraries) was the for the National Information Standards Organization's Information Organized website. Padilla was interviewed about a recent report commissioned by OCC, "Responsible Operations: Data Science, Machine Learning and AI in Libraries" that he wrote. The report represents an agenda for libraries thinking about moving forward with these technologies. What makes it worthy of note is the recognition by its author that successfully doing so requires a holistic approach in considering and managing use as an institution moves to establish new policies, roles, and workflows. Padilla is the visiting interim head of knowledge production, overseeing the maker space, multimedia production studios, printing and scanning services, and data visualization services.
