Stephen Benning and Edward Smith (both Psychology) published an about how to register scientific studies in Personality Disorders: Theory, Research, and Treatment. They argue that doing so increases the transparency of the research process and makes the outcomes of studies more trustworthy by reducing the dependence of data analytic decisions on the data themselves. They provide a template for registering studies before, while, or after data are collected. They detail how to upload many kinds of registrations, from thesis or dissertation proposals to guided registration templates provided in the Open Science Framework.
