The hosted a tour for Dr. Marianela Garza Enriquez, director for accreditation and certification, and several other faculty members from the University of Nuevo Leon School of Dentistry (UANL), located in Monterrey, Mexico. UANL School of Dentistry is the third largest dental school in Mexico with approximately 3,000 students.
Guided by UNLV’s Dr. William Davenport, the visitors learned about the United States’ model for competency-based dental education and the general practice team concept used by the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. The visit will aid UANL during its pursuit of international accreditation available through the Commission on Dental Accreditation. This is the second visit this year by representatives from an another country’s dental school seeking consultation about international accreditation requirements.
