Dr. Robin Weltman (Dental) co-authored “,” which published April 13 in Journal of Clinical Periodontology. The study aimed to investigate the efficacy of soft-tissue augmentation (STA) with a subepithelial connective tissue graft or an acellular dermal matrix on reducing tissue alterations at an immediate implant site. The authors concluded that STA at immediate implant sites enhanced soft-tissue thickness and maintained soft-tissue contours, but did not prevent peri-implant mucosal recession or interproximal bone resorption. They also recommended conducting long-term follow-up since the results were reported for up to one year only.
