Rajiv Kishore (Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology) had a paper, "E-Business Systems & Firm Performance: An Exploration-Exploitation Perspective and the Moderating Role of Executive Attention," accepted for publication by Production and Operations Management, which is a premier business journal listed in prestigious Financial Times 50 and the narrower UT Dallas 24 journal lists. This paper was co-authored with Sreejith Kumar Krishnakumar of Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur, India, and Nallan Suresh of SUNY Buffalo. Using an exploration-exploitation perspective and data from InformationWeek publication about the top InformationWeek 500 companies in the U.S., this paper examines the nuanced interactive effects of focused and expansive executive attention with customer-facing e-business systems on firm performance measured using return on sales (ROS) and Tobin’s Q. The study highlights the need for dual attention processes on the part of senior executives to fully realize the benefits offered by e-business systems.
