Associate professor Kimberly G. James and assistant professor André Chiang (both Music) performed leading roles in the world premiere of the opera, Behold the Man (Fowler, Flack), with on September 30 and October 1. Several current music students, alumni, College of Fine Arts administrator Ashley Stone, choral conductor assistant professor Stephanie Council (Music), and lighting designer (MFA from UNLV) were involved in this well-received production. Chiang gave an for Fox 5 News, and the production received international press (the , ). Behold the Man is based on the real life story of Cecilia Gimenez's botched attempt at restoring a fresco, which surprising results in internet fame.
