Each year during the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium, OUR recognizes and honors UNLV faculty members with a record of excellence in inspiring, influencing, supporting, and mentoring undergraduate researchers in their professional development, career training, and educational journey. OUR awards one faculty research mentor in Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences (AHS) and one faculty research mentor in Health and Natural Sciences and Engineering (HNSE). The awards carry a monetary prize of $1,000 each and a plaque.
Kim Nehls (Marketing and International Business) and Erica Marti (Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction) are the recipients of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) 2022 Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award in AHS and HNSE, respectively.
OUR proudly presents these awards to incentivize faculty undergraduate research mentoring, to elevate the status of undergraduate research, to align with UNLV’s commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and to celebrate faculty driven, student centered, and institutionally supported research education efforts at UNLV. OUR considers the nominees’ record regarding their contribution to and impact on research education.
