Kavita Batra (Medicine) has recently been selected to receive the from the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE). This prestigious national award recognizes early career health educators, who have distinguished themselves as promising health educators through leadership, creativity, and involvement in the profession. Batra made a significant contribution to the COVID-19 research and her work is already making quite an impact on health education, which was the central piece during the COVID-19 pandemic. Batra is an assistant professor, a medical research statistician, and the director of internal medicine residents' research within the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. She provides research and statistical training to medical residents, fellows, students, faculty, and other learners with the school.
