Julia Freedman Silvernail () received the 2016 Arthur Broten Young Scholar Award from the (WSKW). The society has bestowed the award since 1987 to full-time professionals during their first years of employment in a college or university related field of kinesiology and wellness. Freedman Silvernail is one of three national awardees for 2016, and the fifth UNLV faculty member to receive the honor. She earned the award for her research titled “Progression in Gait Symmetry Following Total Hip Arthroplasty,” which she will present during the WSKW’s annual conference in October.
