Jacob D. Skousen and Ellianna Rodriguez (both Educational Psychology & Higher Education) presented their paper, "The Costs of a Public Education: One Public-School District’s Student Fees" at the annual . (The 2020 conference was held virtually this month because of the COVID-19 pandemic.) Their study sought to respond to the research question: "What school fees are charged in middle schools and high schools in one large public-school district?" Publicly accessible data were collected in 47 schools in the fifth largest school district in the US. Through the use of descriptive statistics, the findings included a description of more than 2,000 school fees. These findings may provide another example of the ways in which schools may be inequitable. Rodriguez is a graduate assistant and graduate student in higher education.
