Jacob D. Skousen (Educational Psychology and Higher Education) presented at the Bridging Equity Into Action Summitt on Sept. 25. The invited presentation was titled "'Why Not Me?' Minoritized Communities, Leadership Development, and the Equity-Focused School Leader." The presentation abstract:
Minoritized populations have long been the center of injustice, inequality, and inequity. This historical context has led to many individuals from minoritized populations hopelessness and self-doubt. This session will focus on the ways in which we can speak to the past and create a path toward developing equity-focused school leaders. Theoretical, as well as practical approaches will be discussed.
