Iesha Jackson (Teaching and Learning) and Doris L. Watson (Educational Psychology, Leadership and Higher Education) have published an edited book, (DIO Press). Readers of the book will learn about the history of Blacks and Latinos in Las Vegas, the development and maintenance of the city’s urban schools, methods of uncovering and detailing Black and Latinx educators’ stories of experience, and the realities that these educators face working in the nation’s fifth largest school district. The History of Now also unpacks the methodological approach we used to collect, construct, and share stories of experience with the educators who provided narratives. Educators were invited to author chapters based on their participation in an ongoing three-year project known as the Collective.
