Gerilyn Slicker (Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education), with co-authors Cara Kelly and Jason Hustedt from the University of Delaware, published an article, "" in the Early Childhood Education Journal. Results suggest that certain family experiences, including parenting stress and income, were negatively associated with the social-emotional outcomes of infants and toddlers enrolled in Early Head Start. On the other hand, parent education was positively associated with parenting behaviors and maternal sensitivity was positively associated with infants’ and toddlers’ social-emotional competence.
