Emily Lapworth (Libraries) is the recipient of the University Libraries' 2019 Outstanding Library Faculty Scholarship Award. Lapworth was selected for her significant scholarship which addresses cutting-edge trends and technologies in digital librarianship and archival management. Over the past year, her scholarship included a peer-reviewed article, one book chapter, two conference presentations, one conference poster, and one grant-funded workshop presentation. Her scholarly contributions are particularly impressive because of their breadth both in terms of topics and audiences. Her research includes examining and implementing large-scale digitization projects, optimizing merged metadata standards, improving digital collections, and oral history projects. Her research has positioned University Libraries at the forefront of the profession and will help libraries, archives, and museums across the country improve their practices.
