Elissa Palmer (Family and Community Medicine) presented “Leadership: Identifying gender gap and stressors with a focus on self-competency assessment and resilience” at the Europe Region Annual Meeting of the World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians (WONCA) in Dublin, Ireland on September 26. During this peer reviewed accepted talk to a group of about 200 family physicians from varying countries such as Portugal, Ireland, United Kingdom, Scotland, Spain, Canada, Belgium, France and others, she discussed physician stressors, defined issues related to gender discrepancies and identified gaps in participant resilience competencies. Following delineation of the current literature of evidence based techniques, tools, and resources, participants could create a framework for a personal action plan for professional development.
