Danny Siciliano, Marion Canestrier, Kevin Curry, Annie Bellorin, Andrea Debrino, and Daniel Dinev (all Accounting) won the and took home $5,000. This marked UNLV's first time participating in the competition, which focused on cost allocations, performance evaluation and compensation, and acquisitions centered around business growth. In total, 22 teams from 18 schools participated and the other three finalists were previous competition winners. This win shows the department's tremendous effort in bridging the application of classroom study to real-world issues. Furthermore, UNLV also won the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Accounting Competition in 2014 and is now the first school to win what are considered the two most important student accounting competitions. This is a phenomenal achievement for an already accomplished faculty advisor and group of students who graduated this past May and are headed to prominent organizations (Deloitte, EY, PWC, Eide Bailley, and Target).
