The Department of Brain Health and the Office of Economic Development hosted the inaugural UNLV Innovation Day, an annual event that brought together UNLV researchers and industry professionals to discuss the growth and understanding of brain health, mental health, and the innovation brought together through science and experimentation.
The program consisted of notable guest speakers, event sponsors from across UNLV and industry-related companies, and a pitch competition for students and faculty to develop ideas that could improve the lives of patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases. Two student finalists and two faculty finalists were presented with awards for their presentations during the event’s pitch competition.
Innovation Day was created as part of a five-year, $1.5 million federal grant from the National Institute on Aging for UNLV to promote student-led innovations focused on Alzheimer’s Disease.
