Wang and others proposed a new measurement to capture the independence-unification preference among Taiwanese people regarding the China-Taiwan relationship. The new measurement includes five possible scenarios about the future of Taiwan; Wang and others show that this new measurement has a better explanatory power than party id and other existing measures on explaining the vote choice and nationalism among Taiwanese people.
