Arya Udry (Geoscience) and James Day of the UCSD–Scripps Institute of Oceanography are the authors of a paper, “,” which was recently published in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta. The paper focuses on the formation and emplacement of the Martian nakhlite and chassignite meteorites on Mars’ surface. They show that these rocks were formed from the same parent magma and that they emplaced as different lava flows, similar to features observed in terrestrial volcanic systems.
