Ana Gonzalez, Asma Awan, and Manoj Sharma (all Social and Behavioral Health) presented a poster tilted “Developing an instrument based on the multi-theory model (MTM) of health behavior change to track calories among adults” at the American Public Health Association 2024 Annual Meeting October 27-30, 2024, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as part of the Food and Nutrition poster session. The poster described a 51-item behavioral instrument based on MTM and its subscales for health behavior change to foster calorie tracking among adults. The instrument developed in this study can be used to conduct predictive modeling using hierarchical regression models in cross-sectional study designs. It can also be used in experimental designs to test the efficacy of calorie-tracking behavior change programs among adults. Gonzalez is a Ph.D. student.
