Amy Brown (Music) was an invited presenter for the . "The AstroKnot Festival, powered by PNC, is all about tying Space Age Ideas to our current pedagogy using design and invention. Our goal with this conference is to encourage and foster creativity, curiosity, and collaboration in order to demonstrate strategies we can use in our classrooms immediately. Our presenters are award-winning educators who will engage, entertain, and enlighten as they demonstrate activities you can use with your learners."
Amy's presentation was titled, "The Binary Star: Using Music to Reinforce ELA Standards." During the session, participants could create their own song using a Mad Lib-style activity and the tune, "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Participants were encouraged to add their own accompaniment, using Chrome Music Lab Song Maker, use virtual instruments, and recorded their new versions using Flip.com.
