Aaron Mayes (Libraries) received the 2019 Historic Preservation Award from the city of Las Vegas in the Preservation Education Category for his work curating an exhibit featuring images of Las Vegas' Historic Westside neighborhood by photographer Clinton Wright. The exhibit has previously been on display at the Historic Westside School and at Lied Library. Wright donated his photography collection to UNLV Special Collections and Archives as part of the Documenting the African-American Experience in Las Vegas project.
