The bachelor of science in comprehensive medical imaging - radiography prepares students to meet the demand for professional imaging personnel to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists examination in radiography to become certified radiologic technologists.

Admission Into the Program

Admission to the radiography program is competitive. The program admits up to 26 students per year, which is subject to change based on clinical capacity.

Transfer Coursework

UNLV radiography program courses are only offered at UNLV. This program does not accept transfer credit of previous radiography courses taken at other institutions. Students entering UNLV's radiography program may transfer some general education course work from other institutions. It should be noted that acceptance of courses is subject to change. Thus, prior to enrolling in a course, the student should verify that a course is still transferable with the UNLV Admissions Office. It is recommended that all students meet with their health science advisor.

Application Review Process

Applicant files are reviewed by the program admissions committee during the spring semester for acceptance to the class starting in the fall semester. Admission is based on the accumulation of points. Points are awarded based on the following:

Point Categories Percentage of Total Point (84 Points Possible)

Select course grades* 43%
Personal statement 18%
Prior experience 12%
Prior application (points are awarded for up to two [2] reapplications) 7%
Committee points (awarded by the admissions committee) 6%

**The following courses are awarded points based on the grades received from a standard 4.0 scale: RAD 100, RAD 117, BIO 189, ENG 101&102, KIN 223, KIN 224, CS 115 or IS 101, MATH 126/127 or higher.
