Omega Alpha Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota International
CSI is an international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in counseling. We promote a strong professional identity through members (professional counselors, counselor educators, and students) who contribute to the realization of a healthy society by fostering wellness and human dignity.
Membership in Chi Sigma Iota is open to both students and graduates of counselor education programs. Students must have completed at least one semester of full-time graduate coursework in a counseling program, have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 system, and be recommended for membership in CSI by the chapter. Individuals who would like to become members after achieving the necessary requirements may complete a . The Chapter Faculty Advisor or appropriate chapter officer (e.g., President, Treasurer, or Membership Chair) should be notified that the application has been submitted. Payment for CSI membership may be submitted online. Chapter dues should be made directly to the chapter.
The Omega Alpha Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota provides opportunities to engage professionally. Activities include guest speakers, volunteer opportunities, research participation and planning, and socials to network with other counselors and helping professionals.
PALS Mentoring Program
The College of Education’s P.A.L.S Peer Mentoring Program is designed to assist first-year students with their transition from high school to UNLV. This program connects first-year students with a current College of Education student who can provide academic and social support and ongoing advice about how to succeed at UNLV. The P.A.L.S Peer Mentoring Program promotes first-year student success and retention while promoting leadership development among upperclassmen.

The Rebel Educators are a student-driven organization and the Nevada State Education Association (NSEA) Student Program Chapter at UNLV College of Education. Rebel Educators focuses on enhancing the overall student experience by fostering a sense of community within the college and across campus. SAA is a UNLV-registered student organization of individuals who meet together to support one another with scholarly writing. SAA provides resources and networking opportunities, and allows students to share experiences of navigating through novice academic writing. Student Council for Exceptional Children
The UNLV Student Chapter of the Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) is committed to working with students and professionals in the area of special education who need a voice in the educative process and will work to serve this group of students as well as make other people within the community aware of issues related to disability.
Non-Education Majors Welcome: Special education majors are not the only people who will be working with individuals with exceptionalities. SCEC can help you gain an acceptance of individuals with special needs.
Student Organization of Addictions Professionals
The Student Organization of Addiction Professionals (SOAP) is a CSUN-recognized organization dedicated to the support and development of future addictions professionals. Through school and community partnerships, members of SOAP:
- Coordinate and sponsor community service opportunities to enrich members' relationship with the addiction treatment community;
- Serve as outreach volunteers to at-risk populations, such as youth and disadvantaged groups; and
- Participate in events that promote awareness of addiction as a public and mental health concern, and engage in addiction prevention efforts.
