To sponsor an event, organization or activity:

  • The sponsored organization must have an Employee Identification Number (EIN) and be appropriately registered with the Secretary of State in which the activity is located.
    • The sponsored organization must register through .
  • Department must submit the sponsorship request on a through the Workday portal with attached documentation:
    • A letter that formally requests sponsorship from the organization.
    • Copy of the sponsorship details
    • If table/tickets are provided as a part of the sponsorship, provide a list of participants
    • Explanation of  what the funds will be used for and when they will be used.
    • Explanation of how sponsorship will contribute to UNLV’s mission. Sponsorship of an activity should be mission related and justified accordingly.
  • Department must get appropriate approval and attach to the SIR before submitting (email is acceptable).
    • The Provost/Vice President, Associate Vice President/Associate Provost, or the Dean may approve these requests.
    • Athletics Department requests will be reviewed by the President's Office.
    • Student organizations (such as CSUN, GPSA, Student Housing, etc.), where final approval rests with a governing body, only need to have approval of that governing body.
