A Cross-Disciplinary Dual Degree To Make Yourself Stand Out

The dual JD/MBA degree offers insight into the business and legal sides of commerce prepares students for careers in which an understanding of both legal and business principles is essential. The program provides an excellent background for careers in law and/or business and is intended to broaden career perspectives. Graduates from the program go on to work in law firms, investment and accounting firms, as well as nonprofits and government institutions.

Admission Process

The dual master's degree in JD/MBA program is open to graduates from all undergraduate disciplines. You must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in the United States or proof of equivalent training at an international college or university. Applicants to the JD/MBA program must apply for, and gain admission to, both the JD program and to the MBA program, respectively.

Program Structure

The dual JD/MBA degree is a 110-credit hour program in which students take 80 credits in Juris Doctor courses and 30 credits in Business Administration. Graduates of the program receive the Juris Doctor degree (JD) from the Boyd School of Law and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the LEE Business School. Full-time students typically receive their degree within four years, while part-time students average between five and six years.
