We extend our deepest condolences in light of the tragic events that unfolded on our campus on Wednesday, December 6. In the midst of our heartbreak, we remain committed to recognizing your accomplishments at the Winter 2023 Commencement.

Commencement Attendance Options

While we hope to see you next week for the winter ceremony, we understand that you may not wish to attend commencement at this time. Summer and fall graduates can choose to participate in either the Winter 2023 Commencement or the Spring 2024 Commencement, whichever feels more comfortable to you. Please submit a if you initially indicated attendance at next week’s ceremony but have changed your plans.

Spring 2024 Commencement

For those opting not to attend the Winter 2023 Commencement, you are welcome to join the Spring 2024 Commencement in May. Undergraduate degree candidates who wish to attend in May should email graduation@unlv.edu, while graduate degree and certificate candidates should email gradrebel@unlv.edu. Closer to the May 2024 commencement ceremonies, students will be asked to RSVP separately. 

Winter 2023 Commencement

The commencement ceremonies for undergraduate degree candidates are scheduled for Tuesday, December 19 at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. The ceremony for graduate degree and certificate candidates is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20 at 4 p.m. Please review the commencement schedule for more information. If you still need to complete the , please do so now. 

Safety Measures

Your safety is our top priority. We are collaborating closely with the University Police Department and Thomas & Mack Center to ensure enhanced security measures during the commencement ceremonies. We recommend arriving at least 90 minutes before your scheduled ceremony to allow time for necessary screening. Please be advised that adherence to the is mandatory.

Commencement Regalia

The bookstore is currently open with a limited supply of commencement regalia available for purchase. Regalia may be purchased during store hours this week: 

  • Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
  • Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
