"I have enjoyed my time working with the Las Vegas Philharmonic tremendously. I have always been interested in arts administration but never had a chance to experience it first hand. By working with the Phil, I was able to see how roles and teams are divided, all the details that it takes to run a professional orchestra, and how each member brings a different skill set to the table that allows the Philharmonic to run smoothly. It was also very important for me to see the balance that the staff members showcased between executing short-term tasks that needed to be competed weekly, or per concert cycle, and continuously striving to strengthen the organization and enhance the concert-going experience with more long-term projects. At the Phil, I work with the Annual Fund & Database Manager on projects concerning donors to the orchestra, specifically with organizing information to better see current and prospective donors, along with stewardship and benefits we give donors to show our appreciation. I have also utilized my creative side and done design projects, namely posters for the pre-LV Phil concert performers in the Smith Center lobby. These performers are usually students from local high schools, which gives them a great opportunity to perform for the Philharmonic patrons, and then listen to the concert later in the evening."
