Unveiling
On October 4 at 6 p.m., the UNLV PAC will unveil the first iteration of a community ofrenda built by local Las Vegas artist Elsa Cantú-Lizarraga. Initially, the ofrenda will feature photographs of UNLV family and friends who have passed, including photos of Lee Business School professors Cha Jan "Jerry" Chang and Patricia Navarro-Velez and World Languages and Culture professor Naoko Takemaru–the three whose lives were taken on December 6 of last year.

The free unveiling event will feature dancers from Calpulli Tlatelolco and an introduction by the artist. Parking is available in the Cottage Grove Parking lot.

Community Participation
The UNLV Performing Arts Center invites the community to contribute framed 4x6 photos of those who have passed October 7–11 and 14–18. The photos will be added to the ofrenda and return of the photos to the contributor will be arranged. (Call 702-895-4587 or email tina.oh@unlv.edu for drop off details.)

Disney•Pixar’s Coco Live-to-Film Concert
Return to the Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall at 8 p.m. on Nevada Day (October 25) to see the final ofrenda and enjoy Disney•Pixar’s Coco Live-to-Film Concert with the Orquesta Folclórica Nacional de México (tickets required). The ofrenda will remain on view through Día de Los Muertos (October 31-November 2), the UNLV Art Walk (November 1), and other times when the Artemus W. Ham Concert will be open for ticketed events.

Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ the ofrenda
An ofrenda (Spanish: "offering") is an altar created during the annual and traditionally Mexican Día de Los Muertos celebration. An ofrenda, which may be quite large and elaborate, is intended to honor and welcome the deceased to share time with the living again and forms a central plot theme in Coco.

Develando
El 4 de Octubre a las 6 p.m., el PAC de la UNLV dará a conocer la primera versión de una ofrenda comunitaria construida por la artista local de Las Vegas, Elsa Cantú-Lizarraga. Inicialmente, la ofrenda incluirá fotografías de familiares y amigos de la UNLV que han fallecido, incluidas fotografías de los profesores de Lee Business School Cha Jan "Jerry" Chang y Patricia Navarro-Velez y la profesora de Lenguas y Culturas Mundiales Naoko Takemaru, los tres cuyas vidas fueron arrebatadas. 6 de Diciembre del año pasado.

El Centro de Artes Escénicas de la UNLV invita a la comunidad a contribuir con fotografías enmarcadas de 4x6 de aquellos que fallecieron del 7 al 11 y del 14 al 18 de Octubre. Las fotografías se agregarán a la ofrenda y se organizará la devolución de las fotografías al contribuyente. Concierto en vivo para filmar Coco de Disney•Pixar
Regreso a la sala de conciertos Artemus W. Ham a las 8 p.m. el Día de Nevada (25 de Octubre) para ver la ofrenda final y disfrutar del Concierto en vivo Coco de Disney•Pixar con la Orquesta Folclórica Nacional de México (se requieren boletos). La ofrenda permanecerá abierta durante el Día de Los Muertos (31 de Octubre al 2 de noviembre), UNLV Art Walk (1 de Noviembre) y otros momentos en los que el Concierto Artemus W. Ham estará abierto para eventos con entrada.

Sobre la ofrenda
Una ofrenda (español: "ofrenda") es un altar creado durante la celebración anual y tradicionalmente mexicana del Día de Los Muertos. Una ofrenda, que puede ser bastante grande y elaborada, tiene como objetivo honrar y dar la bienvenida al difunto para que vuelva a compartir tiempo con los vivos y constituye un tema central de la trama en Coco.
