Dear Lee Business School Students,
Today is the beginning of UNLV’s spring semester. Without question, it has been a difficult month since the December 6 tragedy, and we will continue to heal over the following days, weeks, and months.
If you need help working through what you are thinking and feeling, we encourage you to utilize the many resources available on the UNLV Strong webpage and Student Resources page. There are many mental health resources and other information to help you through this difficult time.
We know this semester may be especially challenging for our students who are finishing their last semester at UNLV this spring and plan to graduate in May. We want you to know you’re not alone. We will be working on ways to help make this a memorable milestone of your college experience.
Because many of the changes on campus directly affect business students, we want to provide as much information as possible to help you have a successful semester. The intention is to keep you informed and share the different ways you will have support this spring.
Beam Hall
- Beam Hall will be closed and locked for the spring semester to allow time for repairs to the building. Please check MyUNLV. Any of your classes that were scheduled in Beam Hall have been relocated or changed to online.
- Contact your professor for details regarding office hours. Each professor may handle them differently. Your professor’s contact information is on WebCampus or the course syllabus.
- For Graduate Students: The Graduate Student Commons on the second floor of Beam Hall will be closed for the semester. LEE graduate students are encouraged to use the Gateway Graduate Commons on the second floor of the UNLV Gateway Building (directly across from the main campus on Maryland Parkway) or the Leid Library Graduate Student Commons located on the second floor of the Leid Library for independent or group study sessions.
Classes
Check your schedule on MyUNLV frequently for changes – especially during the first two weeks of class. More seats and even sections have opened up. It is still possible to make schedule changes. Please be aware that swaps do not incur late fees, but adding additional credits might.
Advising
The modality of advising appointments and drop-ins may change during the semester. We will keep you updated so you know if appointments will be offered in person. Virtual appointments will continue to be made available. Below is the best way to contact your advisor right now.
Undergraduate Students
If you need to connect with your advisor, please email LBSadvising@unlv.edu from your Rebelmail and include your full name, NSHE ID number, and best contact phone number for the quickest response. The current volume is high; we thank you for your patience.
Email is the preferred communication method, but if you need to call the Undergraduate Advising Office, the number is 702-895-3363. Leave a detailed voicemail including your request, contact phone number, name, and NSHE ID. Note: your phone call will be returned. It may take longer than an email response.
