Did You Know?
During the past 2023 Nevada Legislative Session, our state passed , which updated the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Residency Form in order to expand in-state tuition. The updates to the residency form are tremendous wins for our immigrant student population within the NSHE!
What Are The Updates?
- Expanded in-state tuition to individuals who have taken high school equivalency exams, such as the General Education Diploma (GED) and the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), with the state of Nevada - regardless of immigration status.
- Expanded in-state tuition to Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders. Now TPS students can apply for residency for tuition purposes as long as they can show that they have been residents of Nevada for at least one year immediately preceding the date of matriculation.
If you believe you may qualify for classification as a resident based on the updates, please consider applying!
UNLV Deadlines
