The College of Fine Arts recently visited with representatives from Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua in Chihuahua, Mexico to discuss a collaborative mural project representing friendship that will be displayed in each city simultaneously. Set to be unveiled in March, the project will feature identical murals in both North Las Vegas and Chihuahua.

“I am thrilled to know that students from our two countries — the United States and Mexico — will be making art together to enhance the lives of those living in both countries, and at the same time, make new friends and colleagues through integrating their remarkable talents,” said Dean Nancy Uscher.

During the visit, School of Music director Dr. Isrea Butler performed with the Chihuahua Symphony Orchestra, where UNLV music alumna Gabriela Ordoñez Villalobos serves as executive director.
