WHAT: The College of Business will honor top business leaders at its Nevada Business Hall of Fame ceremony. The late Keith Schwer, UNLV's chief economist and director of the UNLV Center for Business & Economic Research, is this year's honorary inductee. John Ascuaga, founder of Nugget Casino Resort; Sam Boyd, a gaming innovator and Patricia Mulroy, general manager of the Southern Nevada Water Authority, are the 2010 inductees. The College of Business created the Nevada Business Hall of Fame in 2002 to recognize innovators who have contributed to the economic prosperity of Nevada.
WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010. Reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and awards ceremony at 7 p.m.
WHERE: The Mirage, 3400 S. Las Vegas Blvd.
DETAILS: Paul Jarley, Dean of the College of Business, will provide opening remarks. Sue Manteris, news anchor at KVBC-TV 3, will emcee the event. With a $5,000 donation, leadership sponsors receive a table for 10 people and an invitation to attend the Dean's Reception. Without a sponsorship, the cost for a table of 10 is $2,500. The cost for an individual seat is $275. Proceeds support the College of Business.
