UNLV will welcome the newest members to the class of 2015 at its Winter Commencement at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Close to 2,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students are eligible to participate in this winter’s commencement.
New grads range in age from 16 to 72 and hail from 38 states and 54 countries. Approximately 85 percent of graduates are Nevada residents. Since 1964, UNLV has awarded more than 121,000 degrees.
UNLV President Len Jessup will honor a select group of graduating students during the ceremony for their outstanding academic and community achievements. Jessup will also honor longtime UNLV supporter John H. Midby (posthumously) with the President’s Medal for his commitment to the university. The first UNLV President’s Medal was awarded to Governor Kenny Guinn in 1996.
