A post-election panel discussion featuring members of the media as well as elected officials is scheduled for Nov. 19 at UNLV.
"The 1996 Elections: Their Impact on Nevada and the Nation" is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Natural History. Part of the University Forum lecture series, the event is free and open to the public.
Participating in the event will be Jon Ralston, publisher of"The Ralston Report" and columnist for the Review-Journal; Mitch Fox, producer and moderator of"Nevada Week in Review" on KLVX channel 10; Clark County Commission Chairwoman Yvonne Atkinson Gates; and state Sen. Randolph Townsend, R-Reno. Serving as panel moderator will be Pat Goodall, professor of management and public administration.
The panel will discuss the impact of the November elections on the state and the nation. Panelists will comment on both the political and public policy implications of the elections. Audience members will be able to ask questions of the panelists.
