UNLV's College of Business, in association with Andersen, a leading professional services firm, is now accepting nominations for the newly established Nevada Business Hall of Fame.
The Nevada Business Hall of Fame is designed to honor the state's top business leaders whose contributions have significantly enhanced the economic prosperity of Nevada and brought positive recognition to the state.
"The Nevada Business Hall of Fame will showcase the men and women in Nevada whose hard work, success in business, and leadership have made a tremendous impact on the lives of those who live and work in Nevada," said College of Business Dean Richard Flaherty. "We greatly appreciate Andersen's willingness to partner with us in such a worthwhile event."
Andersen is a global firm that specializes in professional services including consulting, assurance, tax, corporate finance, and, in some countries, legal services. Partners and staff from Andersen have pledged more than $45,000 and have provided support for administration and publicity to the College of Business for the Hall of Fame initiative.
"We are pleased with the opportunity to partner with the College of Business in honoring the business leaders who will be inducted into the Hall of Fame," said Andersen Managing Partner Steve Comer. "We hope that the community will embrace this distinguished award to recognize the state's strong business leadership and that this award will bring more attention to the outstanding advances being made by UNLV's College of Business."
Members of the College of Business Executive Advisory Board will select the inaugural inductees. Board members include senior business leaders from a variety of industries.
The first Nevada Business Hall of Fame awards ceremony will take place Feb. 21, 2002, at the MGM Grand Hotel. The awards ceremony will include a reception and a dinner. Tickets for the event are $150. Corporations or individuals may purchase tables for $1,500 each.
Nominations must be submitted prior to Sept. 28 via a letter of nomination and must include the nominee's resume. Nominations should be submitted to the College of Business Executive Advisory Board, in care of Darin Hollingsworth at 4505 Maryland Parkway, Box 456001, Las Vegas, NV 89154-6001.
