Fine-tune your resume, brush-up on your interviewing skills, and don't forget to dress for success. UNLV's Jean Nidetch Women's Center will host its 10th annual Community Job Fair from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the UNLV Moyer Student Union. It is free and open to the public.
Recruiters from more than 50 local companies will be on hand to discuss employment opportunities with job seekers. Organizers of the fair are expecting that as many as 2,000 individuals will attend this year's event and that hundreds of positions will be filled.
"Community Job Fair is an excellent opportunity for job seekers to have a face-to-face interview with local job recruiters," said Conee Spano, director of the Jean Nidetch Women's Center. "Thanks to the Southern Nevada businesses that sponsor and support this exciting event, the Community Job Fair has grown to be among the largest in our state."
Free parking and childcare service will be available on the day of the event.
Since 1993, the Jean Nidetch Women's Center has been a valuable resource for the local community as well as for all UNLV students, faculty, and staff. The center offers a variety of programs and events to raise awareness of issues important to women, as well as a scholarship program, services for adults returning to school, and social service information and referral.
