Intermountain Health announced plans to build the state’s first freestanding children’s hospital in Las Vegas. The site will be located in UNLV’s Harry Reid Research and Technology Park in southwest Las Vegas.

Nevada’s first stand-alone children’s hospital is coming to the Las Vegas Valley. Intermountain Health unveiled the site of its future stand-alone children’s hospital on Wednesday at UNLV’s Harry Reid Research and Technology Park in the southwest valley, according to a news release.

Early voting is off to a running start in Clark County, but just how many people are taking advantage of this convenience? Saturday was the first day of early voting in Nevada, and Clark County said 29,943 people voted in person at polling places. On Sunday, that number was 17,567.

The term was first coined by Sims and colleagues in the 1970s, to highlight the close connection between type 2 diabetes and obesity.
