It's going to be a packed week for UNLV Athletics. UNLV Athletics is inviting fans to make it a Rebel week and take in as much action as possible.
Runnin' Rebel Send Off, Followed by $2 Tuesday Baseball
The UNLV Athletics Department has invited fans to come to the Thomas & Mack Center's Parking Lot this March 13, to send off the men's basketball team to the NCAA Tournament. The Runnin' Rebels' bus is scheduled to for the airport at approximately 5 p.m. UNLV is the No. 6 seed in the South Region and will face No. 11 Colorado on at 7 p.m. March 15 on truTV. If the Runnin' Rebels win on Thursday, their next game would be on Saturday.
After the Runnin' Rebels depart, fans are invited to join the Rebel Baseball team for a 6:05 p.m. first pitch at Earl E. Wilson Stadium for $2 Tuesday. Tickets as well as most food and beverage items are just $2 and kids 12 and under are always free. UNLV takes on Southern Utah just two days after taking two of three games from Washington State.
Rebel Baseball to Host Mountain West Reigning Champ TCU This Weekend
The Rebel baseball team was picked to finish second in the Mountain West by its coaches during the pre-season. Reigning champion TCU was picked to finish first. The Horned Frogs come to town this weekend for a three-game series to open conference play. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. while Saturday is slated for 2:05 p.m. and Sunday 1:05 p.m. Adult tickets are just $8 and kids 12 and under are always free. Saturday's game takes place on St. Patrick's Day with fans named Patrick or Patricia receiving free admittance.
Lady Rebels in the WNIT
The Lady Rebels (22-9), coming off their best season in eight years, are scheduled to find out Tuesday night who and where they will play in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament. This is the first post-season appearance for the Lady Rebels since 2003-04.
Women's Tennis Back in Action
The women's tennis team will play host to Fresno State on Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The action gets underway at 10 a.m. and admission is always free.
Congrats to Men's Golf
The UNLV men's golf team won one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport this past weekend and is now ranked No. 7 in the nation.
