On Feb. 23, 2023, Tyler D. Parry (African American and African Diaspora Studies; Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies) appeared on Nevada Public Radio to discuss the history of the Historic Westside and current plans to invest in rebuilding and revitalizing the area.

Doctoral student Liam Johnson (Anthropology) was awarded a Pollitzer Student Travel Grant for up to $500 by the American Association of Biological Anthropologists.

Emily Budd (Art) published her sculptural project, "Climate Patinations," at Neon Door, an immersive literary exhibit. The work presents material research demonstrating how various climates around the U.S. create a unique coloration response, or patina, in cast bronze. 

The new book Weird Science of the World by Japanese author Anna Ikarashi features interviews with faculty members Si Jung Kim and Michael Genova (Entertainment Engineering and Design). The interview delves into the future of entertainment technology and the UNLV EED program.
