The School of Dental Medicine's oral pathology biopsy service, the only one of its kind in Nevada, is in complete compliance with all regulations in accordance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and is receiving no recommendations and/or suggestions, according to the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services. The report follows an on-site survey of the service, which verified that the service provides accurate, reliable, and timely patient test results. The school's service currently accepts oral soft and hard tissue specimens from patients and offers second-opinion consultations for three external organizations. Professor Dr. Moni Ahmadian led the effort for this achievement.
