(Law) has been appointed to the Scientific Advisory Board of in Munich, Germany. The president of the Max Planck Society asked Trimble to serve on the board in light of her “outstanding expertise” in the field of intellectual property law, which is one of the core fields of the research of the institute.
The Max Planck Society is the preeminent research institution in Germany, with an annual budget (in 2019) of 1.9 billion Euros. Although known primarily for its achievements in the natural and life sciences, in which fields it includes 20 Nobel laureates, the society’s law institutes, such as the Institute for Innovation and Competition, are among the leading law research institutions in the world. The Scientific Advisory Board evaluates the scientific activities of the institute and advises the society's president on the effectiveness of research outputs and the deployment of funds.
