Jeayoung Jo and Michelle Kim (both Music) were awarded the first prize in the 2023 Baroque Music Competition (Charleston International Music Competition) in the with their performance of the Sonata for Viola da Gamba (cello) and harpsichord, No.2 in D Major, BWV 1028 by J.S. Bach.
Jo holds an undergraduate degree in music from Mokpo National University in South Korea, and is working towards a master’s degree in cello performance from UNLV under the instruction of Andrew Smith.
Kim holds an undergraduate degree in music from San Francisco State University, and a master’s degree in collaborative piano from UNLV. She has been studying harpsichord with a musicologist and harpsichordist, Jonathan Rhodes Lee.
