G. David Beasley (Graduate College) presented a paper, " at the 51st American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies annual meeting. The paper traced the connections between Gothic novelist Ann Radcliffe, the Warrington Academy, and women's education in the 18th century, ultimately arguing that Radcliffe was more of an advocate for educational equality than previously recognized and that her familial connections to the Warrington Academy may well have played an important role in her ideas about women's education.
