Dr. Edward Lynch (Dental) co-authored “A Systematic Review of the Caries Prevalence Among Children Living in Chernobyl Fallout Countries,” which appears in the March issue of Scientific Reports, Nature. The research analyzed caries prevalence among children born and permanently residing in Chernobyl fallout areas and compared the data to children born and living in non-contaminated sites of other Eastern European countries. The collaborative study involved researchers from UNLV, University School of Dental Medicine and Oral Health in Austria, Belarusian State Medical University in Belarus, and Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy in Ukraine.
